Since I now have a PGCE qualification, I thought it might be a good idea to put it to some use. Since February I've been teaching a variety of ESOL students (English for Speakers of Other Languages) at Joseph Priestley College. In May I was offered a 0.5 part-time position giving me the opportunity to continue to develop my teaching skills as well as explore my other creative ventures during my time off.
I've been teaching entry 1, entry 2 and entry 3 students reading, writing. speaking, listening and grammar content. I've also conducted exam invigilation, performed the role of the interlocutor (don't worry, I didn't know what one was until I did it) and done all the other teaching admin things you might expect: schemes of work, lesson plans, developing of resources, exam preparation etc, etc, etc (there's always a lot of "etc" in teaching).
I've created numerous teaching resources (including factsheets, worksheets and interactive powerpoints) which you can view here (link to add).
